A week after surgery

Even though it killed me to not go sooner, I decided to wait about a week to go to Indiana so that I could help take care of my dad once he got home from the hospital since my mom would have to go back to work. Shortly after I'd made my reservation for a flight home we found out my dad would be in the hospital longer than expected. There are certain milestones he had to reach before he was released and things were taking longer than they had originally thought. I ended up keeping my flight and staying closer to two weeks.

Moses was great therapy and encouragement to his grandpa. And even though my dad wasn't allowed to pick him up or hold him (which was tough) we found other ways for them to get their snuggle time in.

Everyone else had a good time with Moses too! And Moses was a big fan of grandma's tupperware drawer.

The last weekend we were there Jeremy drove out to pick us up! That Saturday was beautiful and we got some swinging in.

While we were there Moses turned 10 months old! Here's a top 5 of the new things he can do:

1. Moses has begun to pull himself up on the couch and ottoman, usually to reach the remote or Linus' bone. The couch used to be a great place to keep the dog's toys. Not anymore.

2. He crawls at supersonic speeds I am always certain he's going to ram right into whatever is in his path (the wall or table leg), but he's master the art and can make minor adjustments to avoid collision. He apparantly doesn't care about avoiding his toys though and will just plow over them.

3. We've been doing sign language with him and he now knows the signs for light, dog, more and all done. He can also wave hi and bye.

4. He has three teeth. Two on the bottom and one, yup, just one, on the top left. I love it.

5. He all but refuses to eat anything that comes on a spoon now. I can maybe get 3 bites out of him, more if it's fruit, but he'd much rather have finger foods.

It scares me how close he is to turning one, butI'm excited for the summer and all the milestones that come in the second year! I've started to think about his birthday party and look forward to having family here to celebrate it with us. Thanks for reading!
